the age of technology
i have the privilege and blessing to make music everyday.
mostly done live with no one recording it for the world to hear.
but every now and then i get to do something different and take my macbook, keyboard, mics, and pro tools and play producer/engineer.
ok, i usually get to be the artist too, but its a nice twist to be able to create the music and how its represented.
i want to thank peter gotcher and evan brooks as well as steve jobs for making this a reality.
some might deem the modern age of pro tools as the swift demise of the recording industry while others blame itunes or illegal downloading. i personally, see this evolution as a double edged sword.
just like every major invention comes its benefits and its downfalls:
the automobile
electricity
the airplane
gunpowder
the digital recording age isn’t much different than the analog tape age where kids would use 4-track tape machines to make their own home recordings. the difference is, those tapes weren’t competing with “abbey road” or “dark side of the moon”. but its the ups and downs. thats life.
thanks for listening.
breathe hope.
